Call for Proposals
To start 2024 with the right foot, MGREP is pleased to announce the following funding opportunities. Proposals submitted in coordination with MGREP increase their opportunity to qualify.
Strategic Research Project Call for Proposals

Eligibility
Proposals must be led by a UC principal investigator (PI) and include collaborators from at least one other UC campus and at least one partner institution in Mexico.
Funding
Proposal submissions can request up to $200,000 USD in seed funding over a period of up to 24 months. Funds can support field research, conferences and workshops, and project staff salaries and benefits, but may not be used for student tuition and fees or to cover department overhead or indirect costs.

Small grants for conference presentations in Mexico or events at a UC

Eligibility
PIs may submit only one unique proposal for activities that are not included in any other submission to a call for proposals organized by Alianza MX. These activities may include travel to present at a conference in Mexico or hosting an event at a UC campus.
Funding
Proposal submissions can request up to $5,000 USD in funding for activities from March 1 to August 31, 2024. Funds can support travel to Mexico and event hosting costs at a UC campus,
Alianza MX opens two calls for proposals each year, one in the Fall to support activities in Spring/Summer and the other in the Spring to support activities in Fall/Winter.

UC-IPN Applied Research in Environment and Health Call for Proposals
Eligibility
Proposals must be connected to one of the strategic issues listed above. All projects must include two principal investigators (PIs) from the UC system and one PI from IPN.
Funding
UC researchers can request up to $25,000 USD in total funding for research activities per year over two years. Additional funding support is available for travel to binational workshops. Funds may not be used to cover overhead or indirect costs.
